Luminant Energy to Restart Three Coal-Fired Generating Units in Texas
SUGAR LAND--February 17, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Luminant Energy (Dallas, Texas) will restart three Texas coal-fired power-generating units that had been shut down for economic reasons last year. The units at Luminant Energy's Monticello and Martin Lake power plants are capable of generating 1,979 megawatts and were shut down due to low electrical market prices last year. With the recent cold weather and increases in natural gas and associated market prices, the generating units will resume operations.
