Scotland Greenlights Largest Hydro Scheme
GALWAY, IRELAND--January 20, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) The Scottish government has given the green light for the construction of Scotland's largest hydroelectric pumped storage generating station.
Permission has been granted to SSE plc (Perth, Scotland) to build the 600-megawatt (MW) generating station at Coire Glas, near Spean Bridge to the north-west of Loch Lochy in the Great Glen.
