China Adds 560-Megawatt Project to Pakistan Power Development

BANGALORE, INDIA--June 20, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)-- In a move to address its power-scarcity issues, Pakistan has sought the assistance of China to facilitate the development of nuclear and coal-based power plants in the country. The two nations have established the China-Pakistan Power Plant Corporation as discussed during Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf's visit to Beijing in April 2008. China will deliver six 300-MW atomic power plants to enable Pakistan to achieve its target of generating 8,800 MW of nuclear power by 2030.
