Sanderson Farms' Profits Rise Significantly on Lower Operating Costs

SUGAR LAND--August 26, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Chicken producer and processor Sanderson Farms Incorporated (NASDAQ:SAFM) (Laurel, Mississippi) recently reported earnings for the third quarter of the company's 2009 fiscal year. The company's sales and net earnings were up significantly from 3Q08. Net sales were up 8% year over year, moving from $466.9 million in 3Q08 to $504.8 million this year. Net income was $43 million, compared with a loss of $3.6 million in 3Q08.
