Foundation Being Poured for 1.5 Million-Square-Foot Food Distribution Center in Georgia

SUGAR LAND--September 17, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--General Mills Incorporated (NYSE:GIS) (Minneapolis, Minnesota) is aggressively moving forward with plans to complete a new $80 million food distribution center in Social Circle, Georgia. The company has started construction of a 1.5 million-square-foot distribution center located on a 130-acre site along Hightower Road in Walton County. Construction of the facility started in July. To date, some 600,000 square feet of the foundation has been poured, with structural steel and wall panels set to go up in the coming weeks. The facility is on schedule to be completed May 2010 and will distribute a number of the company's products to markets in the Southeast region of the country.
