Ford, Nissan Make Major Sales Gains in February as Toyota Stumbles
SUGAR LAND--March 4, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Given Toyota Motor Corporation's (NYSE:TM) (Toyota City, Japan) recent woes, a shift in overall automobile sales was expected. Amid weeks of Toyota-bashing, not only in the U.S. but worldwide, competitors have pulled out all the stops, attempting to wrestle market share away from the world's No. 1 automaker. The fruits of that labor were made clear when February sales numbers were released yesterday. Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) (Dearborn, Michigan), as expected, and more surprisingly Nissan North America Incorporated (Smyrna, Tennessee) made significant sales gains, while Toyota was the only major automaker to show a loss for the month.
