SUGAR LAND--September 16, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--With more than $50 billion of industrial projects that are planned or under way, Illinois ranks third in the nation in terms of the value of active industrial projects. The state is a distant third behind California and Texas, which have active projects with combined total investment values of more than $155 billion and $139 billion, respectively. While the use of coal as a fuel has become a hot topic in the media and U.S. legislative bodies, many of the larger projects in Illinois are centered around coal.
