GM and Chrysler to Add 1,000 White-Collar Jobs as Outlook Continues to Improve

SUGAR LAND--December 2, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A little more than a year ago, both General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) (GM) (Detroit, Michigan) and the Chrysler Group LLC (Auburn Hills, Michigan) were not sure that they would be producing vehicles in the next five years. However, after recovering from bankruptcy proceedings, both automakers are making significant strides toward a full recovery. GM has rapidly rebuilt itself, just days ago re-entering the stock market quite successfully. Chrysler has been slower to make progress during its recovery, but the company is moving in the right direction. Both automakers have been adding jobs slowly throughout the recovery process, but the majority of these jobs have been of the blue-collar variety to meet growing production needs. Now, both automakers intend to add 1,000 white-collar jobs each, as the need for additional engineering and research assistance becomes apparent.
