Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Malampaya deep water gas-to-power project in the Philippines, operated by Prime Energy Resources Development BV (Manila, Philippiens), has secured a new deal with Allseas Group SA (Châtel-Saint-Denis, Switzerland) to construct the pipeline and umbilicals connecting two new wells to the Malampaya shallow water platform. This initiative is part of Malampaya Phase 4, with drilling of the new wells scheduled to begin in 2025. The consortium has been granted a 15-year extension to extend the life of the field. The Malampaya gas field is the Philippines' only indigenous gas resource, supplying about 20% of largest island Luzon's electricity needs.
