China’s Zibo City to Invest $224 Million in Environment Protection

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- China's Zibo City of Shandong Province will invest $224 million in environment protection. Some heavy polluting factories will be moved and power plants upgraded. In order to improve its air condition, Zibo City will move whole or part of its three chemical factories out of the city proper. The factories include a resin factory of Shandong University, Zibo Dongfeng Chemical Company, and Zibo Heli Chemical Company.

Zibo will also renovate eighteen power plants to reduce the sulfur dioxide emission, build a supervision system to monitor 34 power plants and all central heating systems, close all vertical cement kilns less than 100,000 tons per year and upgrade all other vertical cement kilns.

In terms of polluted water treatment, Zibo will build, renovate and expand eleven sewage treatment plants, including an industrial sewage treatment plant in Zhoucun Village. Small chemical factories will be renovated to reduce and control rampant drainage of industrial polluted water to rivers.

In the field of ecology, Zibo will recover some parts of mountains in the city that were ruined for mining.

Zibo's main coal-fired power plants and thermal power plants include Zibo Thermal electricity Group Corporation, Zibo Huadian Thermal Power Plant under China Huadian Corporation (Beijing, China), Zibo Huagang Thermal Electricity Company, Limited, Zibo Jiazhou Thermal Electricity Company, Limited, Zibo Haide Chenlong Thermal Electricity Company, Limited, Zibo Fushan Thermal Electricity Company, Limited, and Zibo Luzhong Thermal Electricity Company, Limited.

Zibo's main cement factories include Zibo Hongshan Cement Factory, Zibo Xingjia Cement Factory, Zibo Boshan Cement Factory, Zibo Hongyang Cement Factory, Zibo Huantaileli Cement Factory, Zibo Jinzhou Cement Factory, and Zibo Luzhong Cement Factory.

Zibo City is located in the middle of Shandong Province, to the south is Taiyi Mountain Range, Yellow River to the north, Ji’nan (the Spring City) to the west, and Weifang and Qingdao to the east.
