Delaware Poultry Processor Breaks Ground on $34 Million Expansion

Mountaire is building a state-of-the-art resource-recovery facility, which will recover unused protein from current operations for use in the manufacture of commercial pet foods. The company will also incorporate environmental upgrades as part of the expansion. Mountaire anticipates completion of the expansion by the end of the year.

Plans call for the construction of a 50,000-square-foot building and the installation of equipment that will be utilized to recover and hydrolyze blood, feathers and offal from the company's Millsboro and Shelbyville processing plants, farms and hatcheries.
