Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated). Delaware Printing Company (Dover, Delaware), a division of Independent Newspapers (Dover, Delaware), is planning to construct a new $10 million printing plant in Dover, Delaware (PEC 13000654).

Delaware Printing Company will build the new facility in the Kent County Industrial Park and will relocate operations from its current plant at Webbs Lane & New Burton Road in the spring of 2005. The new facility will consist of two 21,000 (140'x150') square foot buildings. One building will house administrative offices and the second will contain printing, storage and distribution operations. Upon completion of construction, approximately 175 people will be employed at the facility. Delaware Printing Company will print daily newspapers, weekly journals, high school papers, college publications, catalogs and custom print jobs.

Jackson Architects (Dover, Delaware) handled architectural design for the project and EdiS Construction Company (Wilmington, Delaware) is handling the construction management responsibilities.

Delaware Printing Company is a division of Independent Newspapers Incorporated, which was founded in 1953 by a World War II veteran in Dover, DE. Independent Newspapers was expanded into a multi-state operation in 1969. This plant is part of a network of more than thirty community newspapers and many specialized publications in Delaware, Maryland, Florida and Arizona. The company has printing plants in Phoenix, Arizona and Lake Placid, Florida.
