NATURAL GAS
U.S. Gas Futures Dive 13% - U.S. natural gas futures plunged about 13% on Monday to a one-week low as output increased and the weather turned milder than forecast. U.S. front-month gas futures for June delivery fell $1.017, or 12.6%, to settle at $7.026 per million British thermal units, their lowest close since April 28 and the biggest daily percentage decline since it fell 26% in late January. CRUDE OIL
China's January-April Crude Oil Imports Drop 4.8% - China's crude oil imports from January through April 2022 fell 4.8% versus the year-ago period to 171 million metric tons, customs said on Monday. Natural gas imports during the same period were down 8.9% on the year to 35.87 million metric tons. (Reuters)
PRODUCTION
Energean Discovers New Gas Off Israel's Coast - Eastern Mediterranean-focused oil and gas producer Energean plc (London, England) said on Monday it had made a new commercial gas discovery off the coast of Israel, although it fell far short of the company's previous estimates. Energean said it had discovered 8 billion cubic meters (Bcm) of natural gas in its Athena exploration well, which lies between its Karish and Tanin fields. (Reuters)
