Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Investor-owned Highwater Ethanol LLC (Lamberton, Minnesota) is nearing completion of its fuel-ethanol plant in Lamberton and expects to begin grinding corn and producing ethanol by late June or early July.
Once complete, the plant will produce 50 million gallons per year of fuel ethanol from approximately 18 million bushels of locally grown corn. The plant will also generate 160,000 tons of distillers grains.
The plant is located roughly 110 miles southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota, in Redwood County. Construction started on the estimated $110 million plant in spring 2008. Highwater has scheduled an official grand opening ceremony for September 11 at 9:30 a.m.
