Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info is tracking $13.66 billion in planned third-quarter 2017 oil and gas project starts in the Production, Terminals and Pipelines industries. The Southwest region, which includes the Gulf Coast states of Texas and Louisiana, leads the nation in terms of the number and value of planned project starts.
Click on the image at right for a breakdown by market region of planned third-quarter 2017 oil and gas projects in the U.S.Among the largest projects is Cheniere Energy Incorporated's (NYSE:LNG) Train 3 addition at its under-construction liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. Cheniere announced last month that trains 1 and 2 of the plant were more than 65% complete. The two trains, which will each produce 4.5 million tons per year of LNG for export, are expected to go into service in 2018 and 2019. Construction on Train 3, which also will produce 4.5 million tons per year, is expected to kick off next month and be completed in the first quarter of 2020. In Orla, Texas, Crestwood Equity Partners LP (NYSE:CEQP) (Houston, Texas) plans to kick off construction of a $500 million grassroot crude oil and condensate terminal this quarter. The project will consist of two 40,000-barrel crude oil tanks and a 75,000-barrel condensate tank to support the planned 200,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Delta Access Pipeline project, which will carry Delaware Basin/Permian crude oil from Orla to multiple outlets. Construction on the terminal will start this quarter for completion in late 2018, while construction on the pipeline is planned to begin in the first half of 2018 for completion in early 2019. Outside of Texas and Louisiana, one of the largest oil and gas projects set to kick off this quarter is Enbridge Incorporated's (NYSE:ENB) (Calgary, Alberta) $1.5 billion Nexus Gas Transmission Pipeline, which will transport natural gas from the Utica Shale in Ohio to the existing Vector Pipeline in Michigan. The pipeline will move up to 2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas. Fluor Corporation (NYSE:FLR) (Irving, Texas) is the EPC firm.
