Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Brame Energy Center, a coal- and natural gas-fired generating plant in Lena, Louisiana, took a unit offline Tuesday evening in a forced outage. The station is owned by Cleco Power (NYSE:CNL) (Pineville, Louisiana).
The 704-megawatt (MW) unit, known as Madison 03, was taken offline because of a super-heater loop seal that was found to be leaking. Plant personnel have identified the exact location of the leak and are now making repairs. The unit will be returned to service this weekend.
The Brame Energy Center comprises three generating units with a total plant capacity of 1,676 MW.
