Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Anhui Electric Power Construction No. 1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), signed the construction contract for bids 2 and 3 of the Tianji Power Plant's 1,320-megawatt (MW), Phase II expansion project in Huainan Coal and Power Base on November 25, 2012, according to an announcement from the CEEC on November 26.
The Tianji Power Plant is the first power plant built in the Huainan Coal and Power Base in Central China's Anhui province, and one of the main power source projects for the program to transmit power from Anhui to East China. According to plans, the power plant has a total planned capacity of 2,400 MW, of which the two 600-MW units built in Phase I were commissioned in July and October 2007, respectively. The Phase II expansion project will be furnished with two 660-MW, ultra-supercritical, coal-fired units, together with flue-gas desulfurization and denitration devices on the reserved space of the existing plant area.
According to the contract, APEC1 will be responsible for the construction of the main powerhouse in Bid 2, as well as the installation of Unit 3 and associated common and auxiliary facilities. APEC1 was once the main contractor for the two units of Phase I. Prior to the signing of the contract, APEC1 moved to the site and kicked off construction for the project in February 2012. So far, the foundation for the main powerhouse of Unit 3 has been completed and the erection of boiler main steel beam for Unit 3 has reached the fifth layer.
As reported, the construction and installation contract for Unit 4 and its auxiliary equipment, as well as the desulfurization system, was awarded to Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Company Limited (Hangzhou, Zhejiang). The erection of the first steel beam for the boiler of Unit 4 was completed on November 17, 2012.
Among the leaders and representatives who attended the signing ceremony were Zhai Deshuang, the plant manager of Tianji Power Plant, and Dong Junshun, the general manager of APEC 1.
