Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi (TOKYO SE:8058T) (Tokyo, Japan), has selected Virginia as the site for its planned grassroot Nylon MXD6 plant, which will cost an estimated $20 million.
The new plant will produce approximately 10,000 metric tons per year of MXD6, a high quality nylon. Industrialinfo.com has been tracking this project for several months and recently added the project to its North American Project Database in August. Selection of a general contractor from a previously established short list of firms is expected to take place in September with construction potentially beginning in December of this year.
