New U.S. Plants to Generate 45,000 Jobs in Third-Quarter 2015

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info is tracking 442 plants in the U.S. that are slated to begin operations in third-quarter 2015, creating more than 45,000 jobs. Almost two-thirds of those jobs will be in the Industrial Manufacturing Industry.

Industrial Info is tracking 147 Industrial Manufacturing Industry plants that are scheduled to begin production during the third quarter, which will create more than 28,000 jobs. The Food & Beverage Industry will see the second-highest jobs gains with 6,100 new jobs at 88 new plants, while the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech Industry will add 4,600 jobs at 46 new plants. The Metals & Minerals Industry, consistently a significant jobs creator, will see 18 plants begin operations, which will add 3,700 new jobs to the mix.

Certain areas of the country are expected to see a larger number of new plants and jobs as the quarter passes. The Great Lakes region has 89 new plants scheduled to begin operations, which will result in 8,900 new jobs for the region. The Southeast region is following closely with 54 plants and 8,700 jobs, while the Mid-Atlantic region will add 39 plants and 6,300 jobs. The Southwest region will have 85 new plants begin operations, accompanied by 5,200 new jobs.

Capital spending has remained strong in the U.S., which has allowed a steady stream of jobs to be created through the first half of 2015. The second half of the year is poised to be just as successful, as long as the project pipeline remains full of new plants. If this level of job creation continues to be the trend, the country will enter 2016 on a very high note when it comes to new jobs within the sectors tracked by Industrial Info, which is not a bad sign of things to come.
