Nisseki Chemical Nears Completion of $30 Million Rubber Additives Unit in Texas

Nisseki Chemical Texas Incorporated (Pasadena, Texas), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Petrochemicals Company Limited (Tokyo, Japan), is approximately 80% complete with construction of a new production unit designed to produce 20,000 tons per year of EBH (ethylidene bi-cyclohepetene), a rubber additive.

Construction began in the summer of last year and current plans indicate completion is targeted for November of this year. Nisseki self performed construction management and selection of subcontractors.
Nisseki's major products produced at the Pasadena site include a fluid for high voltage electrical capacitors and a special solvent used in the manufacture of carbonless copy paper.
