Standard Ethanol's First Nebraska Plant Up and Running; Second Plant Expected 2008

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Standard Ethanol Madrid LLC (Madrid, Nebraska), a subsidiary of Mid America Bio-Energy & Commodities LLC (North Platte, Nebraska), is up and running and producing ethanol at a new biofuel refinery in Madrid, Nebraska. The plant is producing nameplate capacity of 110 million gallons annually and processing about 43,000 bushels of corn per day.

Construction on the estimated $100 million plant began in December 2005 and has been producing fuel ethanol since July of this year. The plant utilizes Delta-T (Williamsburg, Virginia) licensed ethanol production technology and was built by TIC-The Industrial Company (TIC) (Steamboat Springs, Colorado).

Mid America Bio-Energy is also building an additional subsidiary plant by the name of Standard Ethanol Cambridge LLC that is located in Cambridge, Nebraska. This 44 million-gallon-per-year plant started construction in April 2006 and is being built by the same design-build team of Delta-T and TIC. Construction is progressing, and the plant is scheduled to go online by March 2008.
