Georgia Power's Water Research Center Among Industry Efforts to Find Cleaner Technology
SUGAR LAND--May 23, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Georgia Power Company (Atlanta, Georgia), a subsidiary of Southern Company (NYSE:SO) (Atlanta, Georgia), has opened a research facility at the Bowen Power Plant near Cartersville, Georgia. The Water Research Center (WRC) is a partnership between Georgia Power Company, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) (Palo Alto, California) and Southern Research Institute (Birmingham, Alabama), with the goal of finding new ways to protect water resources and use them efficiently by addressing withdrawal, consumption and recycling of water throughout the power generation process.
