Texas' Sandow Power Station Shuts Down Coal Unit after Valve Problem

SUGAR LAND--June 19, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Sandow Power Station, located in Rockdale, Texas, shut down its 661-megawatt (MW), coal-fired unit on Tuesday, June 17, following a high-pressure feed water leak and valve issue. After a brief investigation, plant officials still were unable to isolate the valve that is in need of repair. The plant is owned by Luminant Energy Company LLC (Dallas, Texas), which is in joint administration with Energy Future Holdings Corporation (Dallas).
