Georgia, Carolinas Lead Way in Biomass-Fired Power

SUGAR LAND--December 16, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The biomass-fired power sector has exploded in growth recently, as 970 megawatts (MW) and $3.5 billion of biomass-fired facilities are scheduled to start construction in the next 24 months, according to Industrial Info. The majority of the capital spending will be at the Reventure Park Energy Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, at a former Superfund site being developed by Forsite Development Incorporated (Charlotte, North Carolina). The project is expected to cost about $500 million and be fully operational by mid 2012.
