Surge in Gas Demand in China May Slow in 2019 and Beyond, Predicts BP

SUGAR LAND--July 2, 2018--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The global natural gas market had a "bumper" year in 2017, driven by sharp increases in demand from China and a dramatic expansion of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market, Spencer Dale, group chief economist for BP plc (NYSE:BP) (London, England), said June 13 in releasing the company's annual statistical review of world energy. Demand growth for gas in China likely will remain strong in 2018, but it is likely to slacken in 2019 and beyond, the BP economist predicted.
