SUGAR LAND--March 17, 2020--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Coal use by U.S. electric generators fell about 15% in 2019 to approximately 538 million short tons, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) (Washington, D.C.). A further decline is expected in 2020 as asset owners continue with plans to close generators.
