SUGAR LAND--August 24, 2020--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A pair of tropical storms will potentially disrupt 380 offshore platforms and 1.6 million barrels per day (BBL/d) of oil production and 2.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas production. Approximately 1 million BBL/d, or 57% of oil production, were already offline in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), 114 platforms were evacuated as of Sunday.
