June 27, 2022--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The U.S. Chemical Processing Industry is expected to see solid growth through the end of 2022, according to a recent report from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). But the trade group warns supply-chain issues and inflation could hinder capacity growth. This likely means chemical producers will need to keep their existing facilities in the best shape.

Industrial Info is tracking more than $580 million in maintenance-related projects at U.S. chemical plants that are set to kick off in the third quarter, with petrochemical and plastic/rubber units driving about 60% of the total. Texas far outpaces every other U.S. state in petrochemical unit turnarounds in the coming quarter, while Alabama edged out the Louisiana for second place.

Companies readying for major turnarounds in the third quarter include Dow Chemical (NYSE:DOW), Indorama Corporation, Formosa Plastics Corporation USA, Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) and LyondellBasell Industries NV (NYSE:LYB).
