Final EPA Rule on Vehicle Tailpipe Emissions Draws Wide Range of Responses

The new rules give automakers more time to phase in non-emitting and low-emitting vehicles compared to a draft rule that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued about 11 months ago.

Republicans and some industry groups said the administration did not bow deeply enough. Some environmental groups said the bow was just right, but others said it was too deep.
