Serbia to Build New Coal-Fired Plant

GALWAY, IRELAND--November 28, 2013 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) Serbia's second largest coal-fired power plant is to get a €526 million ($716 million) extension with the addition of a new 350-megawatt (MW) unit.

Plant owner, Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) (Belgrade, Serbia), the state-owned electric utility power company in Serbia, has signed a deal with China National Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Corporation (CMEC) (Beijing) to modernise the Kostolac plant located east of Belgrade.
