Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). ASAlliances Biofuels, LLC (Dallas, Texas), formally Demeter Enterprises, LLC, an operating company that will be owned by ASAlliances Holdings, LLC (Dallas, Texas), Cargill, Incorporated (Wayzata, Minnesota), Fagen, Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota), and private equity partners, has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for today, January 18, 2006, for the first of three 100 million gallon per year fuel ethanol plants to be built in the United States.
Plans call for the creation of a nameplate 100 million gallons per year fuel ethanol plant that will convert some 35 million bushels per year of corn into the renewable fuel and also produce 315,000 tons of dry distillers grain annually.
Fagen has been selected as the E+P+C contractor for the $125 million project and the plant is scheduled to go online by the spring of 2007. Construction in the field is not scheduled to begin until February of 2006.
The company announced in December of last year they had secured a $275 million loan to build the Nebraska plant and two additional locations in Linden, Indiana and Bloomberg, Ohio.
The facilities will be operated by alliance partners United Bio Energy, Incorporated (Wichita, Kansas) when the plants become operational. All three facilities are scheduled to be operational by mid-2007.
ASAlliances Biofuels goal is to be a low-cost provider by combining best-in-class strategic and operational expertise with efficient, state-of-the-art production facilities that take advantage of construction and operational economies of scale. ASAlliances Biofuels will control significant volumes of ethanol by operating three of the largest plants in the industry.
