Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Sichuan No. 2 Electric Power Construction Company Limited (SEPCC2) (Chengdu, Sichuan) signed a contract to build and erect the 1,320-megawatt (MW), coal-fired Unit 4 at the Anwen Power Plant in Chongqing, according to an announcement on April 14.
Chongqing Songzao Electric Power Company Limited's (Songzao, Chongqing) Anwen Power Plant currently has two 150-MW units that were commissioned in July 2006. Unit 4, which consists of two 660-MW, coal-fired supercritical units, is being planned for the plant in Anwen Town, Qijiang District of Chongqing City. The project is the largest-coal-fired project investment to be made by Chongqing Energy Group Company Limited (Chongqing), a state-owned enterprise under the jurisdiction of the Chongqing municipal government. The addition is a key energy project in Chongqing's five-year plan for 2011-15.
Early in 2004, SEPCC2, a subsidiary of the Power Construction Corporation of China (Power China) (Beijing), was contracted to build Phase I of the Anwen Power Plant project. SEPCC2 has established a consolidated partnership with Chongqing Energy. In addition to the current contract, the SEPCC2 is responsible for the maintenance of plant units 1 and 2.
Chongqing Energy also has awarded the construction and erection contract for Unit 3 (Bid I) to Tianjin Electric Power Construction Company Limited (TEPC). Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan) won the contract to provide turbines, generators and boilers (TGB) for the project.
The project is scheduled to kick off with the first concrete placement for the main powerhouse on August 15, 2014, and Unit 3 will begin commercial operations in June 2016.
