Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Pilgrim Nuclear Station, which is located in Plymouth, Massachusetts, began a refueling outage today, along with a variety of repairs and maintenance that will include a turbine overhaul and a feedwater heater replacement. The station is owned by Entergy Nuclear Generation, a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation (NYSE:ETR) (New Orleans, Louisiana).
Pilgrim Nuclear Generating Station is expected to be offline for about 30 days. It is located in the Manomet section of Plymouth, on Cape Cod Bay of Massachusetts.
The station has a single reactor unit with a boiling water reactor and a steam turbine generator. The unit is powered by General Electric's (NYSE:GE) BWR 3 boiling water reactor, inside a Mark 1 pressure suppression-type containment and generator.
When at full load, the generating capacity is 685 MW.
