Duke Energy Marks 2012 as a 'Milestone Year' for Modernization Projects
SUGAR LAND--February 17, 2012--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--After bringing online the 620-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle unit addition at the Buck Power Station in Salisbury, North Carolina, in November 2011, Duke Energy Incorporated (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina) is preparing to bring three other major modernization projects online this year. In yesterday's earnings conference call, Duke Chairman, President and CEO James Rogers said, "2012 will mark a milestone year in our modernization program. We expect to bring more than 2,000 megawatts online, with the completion of our remaining major projects: Cliffside, Edwardsport and Dan River."
