Gennia Starts Operation of 28-MW Windfarm in Argentina, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Gennia S.A., an energy producer operating in the thermal and renewable energy production sectors, has begun commercial operations at the 28.3-megawatt (MW) Chubut Norte I windfarm in Argentina. The windfarm, which was developed in context of Argentina's first renewable energy auction (RenovAr 1), consists of eight 3.5-MW Vestas wind turbine generator sets using towers built in Argentina by GRI Calviño.
The company also operates the 51.5-MW Villalonga Windfarm, the 70-MW Puerto Madryn I Windfarm, the 102-MW Rawson Windfarm, the 51-MW Trelew (Loma Blanca) Windfarm. It also operates the 50-MW Ullum I & II Solar Photovoltaic Complex. In the thermal generation sector, the company operates 10 facilities with a combined capacity of 600 MW, using natural gas-fired combustion turbines.
