Global Pharma-Bio Industry Wraps up $5.5 billion in Projects During 1Q19, an Industrial Info Market Brief

During the first three months of 2019, the global pharma-bio industry completed 564 capital and maintenance projects. Representing $5.5 billion in total investment, the activity ranged from annual scheduled maintenance events to major production unit additions. One notable project was the completion of Pfizer's $200 million investment featuring single use systems (SUS) to add five production lines for Bulk Pharmaceuticals and APIs (aka DSI-Drug Substance Intermediates) at its Andover, Maryland, site.
