China is home to $11.8 billion worth of active copper-smelter projects, according to Industrial Info's project database. Daye Nonferrous Metals Group recently agreed to construct a $1 billion, 400,000-ton-per-year copper smelter in Huangshi City, to be located in the Huangshi Xingang Logistics Industrial Park.
