Consortium Looks to Invest in Water Desalination Plant in Brazil, an Industrial Info Market Brief

A consortium between Grupo Marquise, PB Construcoes and Abengoa Agua recently won a 30-year contract to construct, operate and maintain a seawater desalination plant to be constructed in the Praia do Futuro neighborhood in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The BRL$500 million (US$95.5 million) investment will have an initial capacity of 1 cubic meter per second of desalinated water. The consortium is undertaking studies and awaiting the approval of environmental and governmental permits. The construction kickoff is estimated to commence by mid-2022.
