Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the installation of the steam turbine in January, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing) completed the installation of the generator rotor for the addition of the 2,000-megawatt (MW), coal-fired Unit 3 of the Shishi Hongshan Power Plant on March 21. With the installation of the generator rotor, construction on the first 1-gigawatt, coal-fired unit in Fujian has reached a new stage, CEEC said on Tuesday.
The generator is a hydrogen-cooled, three-phase synchronous unit. With the hydrogen internal cooling for the rotor winding, the generator has a set of hydrogen oil and water control systems, and a static-thyristor exciter and end-cover type thrust bearing.
Fujian Hongshan Thermal Power Company owns the power plant.
The Shishi Hongshan Thermal Power Plant, located in Hongshan Town, Shishi City, originally was an investment of Fujian Energy Group Company Limited (Fuzhou, Fujian), with two 600-MW, supercritical cogeneration units that were commissioned in 2011. It is now a subsidiary of Shenhua Funeng Power Generation Company Limited (Fuzhou, Fujian), a regional subsidiary of China Shenhua Energy Company Limited (Beijing) (SH.601088) in eastern China's Fujian province.
The main turbine, generator and boiler equipment for the project was supplied by Dongfang Turbine Company Limited (Deyang, Sichuan), Dongfang Electric Machinery Company Limited (Chengdu, Sichuan), and Dongfang Boiler Company Limited (Zigong, Sichuan), three major subsidiaries of Dongfang Electric Corporation (SH.600875) (Chengdu, Sichuan), respectively. North China Power Engineering Company Limited (Beijing) and Fujian Electric Power Survey & Design Institute (Fuzhou, Fujian) are jointly responsible for the design and engineering of the project.
Construction of the expansion project kicked off in October 2011. Mechanical completion kicked off in December 2012. According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations in late 2014.
