Plant officials said that they already have analyzed the issue and are finishing repairs. However, they continue to investigate the cause. Officials anticipate returning the unit online in a day or so--possibly by Thursday--if there are no delays.
The plant has three operational units that total 1,053 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity when at full load. Units 1 and 3 are online and continue to generate at full load.
AECI has provided reliable, wholesale power generation and high-voltage transmission to its six transmission co-op member-owners. They supply 51 local electric cooperatives in Missouri, Iowa and Oklahoma, serving about 875,000 customers.
