Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the erection of the generator stator and rotor on June 1 and August 3, 2012, respectively, Tianjin Electric Power Construction Company Limited (TEPC) (Tianjin) completed the turbine erection for Unit 1 of Hanas New Energy Group Company Limited's (Yinchuan, Ningxia) Ningxia Eastern Gas-fired Thermal Power Plant on October 6, 2012. Successful completion of the turbine erection marks the project has achieved an important milestone prior to commissioning, according to an announcement from TEPC on October 9, 2012.
The steam turbine for Unit 1 is a single-shaft, single-cylinder, dual-pressure, pump-condensing type of steam turbine without reheating. As reported, the Ningxia Eastern Gas-fired Thermal Power Plant is furnished with four 200-megawatt (MW), gas-fired, combined-cycle units, based on SIMENS' SGT5-2000E model for combined heat, power and cold supply. The project is the first large-scale cogeneration project fuelled by clean energy in Ningxia, and the largest cogeneration project for combined heat, power and cold supply in the northwestern region of China.
In October 2010, North China Power Engineering Company Limited (NCPE) (Beijing, China) signed the general contract for the project with Ningxia Eastern Thermal Power Company Limited (Yinchuan, Ningxia), a subsidiary of Hanas New Energy Group. In April 2012, the project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission as a project under the Clean Development Mechanism.
Construction of the project kicked off in March 2011. According to the schedule, the first unit of the project (Unit 1) will begin operation by the end of this year. Upon completion, the project will be able to provide concentrated heat supply and refrigerating service by replacing the existing middle- and small-size coal-fired boilers in the urban districts, and will greatly improve the urban environment and optimize the energy structure in Yinchuan City.
